Professional Grade
3 Axis Accelerometer

The best description of the ProAccel® Triaxial Accelerometer is ACCURACY. Scale factor, bias and alignment have all been optimized far beyond the performance of the usual MEMS accelerometer. There is no better triaxial accelerometer for instrumentation, stabilization and control applications.

Accelerometers measure the rate of change in velocity of the sensor. The ProAccel® has three axes of accelerometers, so it can measure any acceleration while mounted in any orientation. The ProAccel® is temperature compensated for bias and gain, and comes in ±2g, ±5g, and ±10g models.

ProAccel® Features:

  • Ranges up to 10g’s
  • Input Power (8 to 45VDC)
  • EMI and RFI protection
  • Case Mounted Connector
  • X, Y & Z Accelerometer Outputs
  • Wide Bandwidth
  • Temperature Compensated
  • Shock & Vibration Resistant
  • Low Power
  • Rugged, High Reliability
  • CE Certified
  • Two Year Limited Warranty
  • Engineering Support

Feel free to call with any application needs or questions. We look forward to working together to help design and manufacture a sensor that meets your specifications.

Some of the many applications for this sensor include:

  • Crash Testing
  • Rail Track Testing
  • Nuclear Plant Inspection
  • Ride Handling
  • Road Surface Measurement
  • Robotics Research
  • Equipment Leveling

Here are two applications for our ProAccel® sensors. Our website provides suggested sensors for more of our aerospace, land and ocean applications.

Vehicle Crash & Rollover Testing

Occupant safety in a vehicle crash is the primary reason for crash testing vehicles. Such testing is an important part of the design validation process for a new vehicle. Since this testing is so expensive, it is important to acquire detailed and highly accurate data for each test. It is also important that the sensors in the vehicle that record the event be rugged enough to provide accurate data throughout the crash. If the sensors are destroyed in a crash, the cost of testing will go up significantly.

When a vehicle is crash or rollover tested, data must be acquired in all axes of motion in order to reconstruct the most accurate picture of the test.

Railway Track Testing

Accurate and detailed data on track conditions is critical for the safety of rail passengers and employees. While there are significant technical challenges in manufacturing gyros for this environment, Watson Industries has the expertise, the technology and the proven experience to provide the best products for this application.

Watson Industries manufactures inertial gyro sensors that give data on track superelevation (roll angle), roll rate, yaw rate, truck hunting, and track irregularities.

Our ProAccel® sensors are ideal for these applications and many others. They have provided accurate data and reliable performance for customers in these fields for many years.
